NICOLA BATES


Appearing in: Barcelona

Nicola began playing the violin at the age of  8. She studied at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama, winning the John McInnulty prize for Orchestral String Playing in 2004. After graduating in 2005 she has freelanced with various orchestras in the UK, leading the European Opera Centre and playing with the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra . She moved to Barcelona in 2009 to work with the Orquestra de l’Academia del Gran Teatre del Liceu and recently worked with Sting for his ’If on a Winter’s Night’ DVD for Deutsche Grammophon,; BBC documentary and the European tour.
