MITCH SEBASTIAN
Mitch created The Ratpack: Live from Las Vegas which
embarked on three UK tours before opening in the
West End in 2003 where it played for four years and is
re-opening in the West End at the Adelphi Theatre on 28th
September 2009. Last year The Ratpack - Live at the Sands,
marked its third year of touring the USA as part of the
Broadway season.
The show was also produced in Germany, Holland, Denmark, Norway, Spain and Canada. Mitch was nominated for a Laurence Olivier Award and Theatregoers Choice Award.
West End productions: Christmas with The Ratpack (Novello Theatre/Savoy Theatre/Palladium); La Cava (Victoria Palace/Piccadilly Theatre); Playhouse Creatures – The Peter Hall Company (Old Vic Theatre) and Romance Romance (Gielgud Theatre).
Off West End Productions: Pippin (Bridewell Theatre); Lucky Stiff (Bridewell Theatre); Hell Can Be Heaven (Pleasance Theatre); Eyam (Bridewell Theatre); Tales My Lover Told (King’s Head Theatre); The Adventures of Dick Barton (Warehouse Theatre, Swan Theatre Stratford-Upon-Avon and Nottingham Playhouse Theatre) and Merrily We Roll Along (Royal Academy of Music).
International Productions: Chicago (Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, the Baalbeck Festival, Lebanon and The 2005 Arts Festival of Lanarca, Cyprus); Fame (The 2003 Arts Festival of Lanarca, Cyprus); Evita (The 2002 Arts Festival of Lanarca, Cyprus); The Wow Show (Boulevard Theatre, Eilat, Israel); Twist of Fate (Singapore Repertory Theatre-World Premiere) and Sing to the Dawn (Singapore Repertory Theatre-World Premiere).
Opera and Concerts: Mitch collaborated with Japanese performance artist, Omote, to create Saviour IV for the Japanese Embassy which was performed worldwide. He choreographed One, the largest and most expensive concert ever produced in Israel for Rita. He also staged several larger scale productions for the LPO under the directorship of Kurt Masur. Other credits include: OperaBabes World Tour (Sony Records); Magic of the Musicals (Palladium Theatre and UK tours); Marti Webb in concert (UK tour); Sinatra (UK tour); Pirates of Penzance; Oklahoma!; The Opera Show and Crazy For You (Kilworth House Theatre).
Television: In 2004 he directed and choreographed the Lawrence Olivier Award Ceremony, choreographed the children’s TV animation series Yoko! Jakamoto! Toto! (BAFTA Award 2006). Also for television Mitch directed The Ratpack: Live from Las Vegas (available on DVD worldwide) and choreographed and staged the launch of Singapore’s second National Television Channel, TV WORKS, a spectacular star-studded event which was transmitted live to millions throughout Asia.
Future projects include: Ultimate Cheer-TV series (Written and devised); and Cheer!-World Tour (In collaboration with Paula Abdul).
Mitch created The Opera Show which premiered at Kilworth House Theatre in 2008. Following its run this September at Kilworth House Theatre, The Opera Show will embark on a World tour opening in America in January 2010.
